STEP TO RU 1 RECORDS, AND EXPECT A BLACKOUT In a rap world that is in need of East Coast upliftment on the major level, one independent label has been setting up to give the industry a run for the money. Emcee Blackout is not short of confidence. Not since Flava Unit's prominent days in the late 80s and early 90s has the state of New Jersey seen a movement so focused on winning.

Blackout was born in the crunk capital of Atlanta, only to move to New Jersey in 1995. A young emcee who lives his life by the motto that "life is too short, so you have to go for it". "With Ru1 Records as my support base and family and not just a label, I really have plans on ushering a new change of guards than what is being put out right now."
Blackout, feels that he has the type of music combined with the Ru1 sound that will connect with audiences from all regions-east, south, and Midwest. "My style is very diverse, and that's because "being born in Atlanta and then reppin New Jersey being diverse comes easy."

According to an exuberated CEO Ru1, his signing of Blackout was a no brainer because "his flows are infectious and with great song writing skills, he is gonna be a problem for the rap game. Whether its gangsta, party, political, spiritual or something for the ladies this dude has it all covered.

When it comes down to live performances.... you can expect banging music and an energized performance from beginning to end...Every aspect of the show is calculated to precision. When you see a show you will be very entertained. Black always brings the performance to the next level and feed off of the audience's reaction...When he raps it up, the fans always want more.... Blackout would love to collaborate with 50 cent, Lil Jon, and Ludacris. Blackout is not happy though with the lack of respect for that art as he addressed the mere fact that "sometimes you feel as though the rap game is more about money than for love". Justifying the fact that Ru1 Records underground sacrifices are more about proving their love for Hip Hop.
