Cartier BioCartier AKA Yung Fette-ola AKA Nav,
affectionately known to the ladies as Nav-ee, came up back in forth from Northern, NJ and Harlem, NY. He began rhyming at the young age of 11, but it wasn't until the age of 17 that he started to ambitiously put emphasis on his music.
In 1997 he moved to VA and aggressively began producing, laying down lyrics, and promoting himself in Virginia and North Jersey.
Over the years Cartier has participated in a variety of performances that range from local NYC venues (Justin’s, China Club, Hotel’s in Newark, NJ) to opening up for "big named" artists such as: Ludacris, Outkast, and Jay-Z.
In November 2000, Cartier heated the stage up for Carl Thomas and Common at the Hampton University homecoming concert in Virginia. Most recently he has performed several times at Club Speed in NYC. His music appeals to the same consumers that listen to Fabolous, Jadakiss, Jay-Z, Nas, Mob Style, Cash Money, Nelly, Lord Tariq/Money Boss Players, etc. His style varies but remains consistent with the latest trends and up-to-date slang of the year.
Cartiers’ song range includes: Dirty South, laid back, West Coast, East Coast hustling themes, and party songs. With the use of catchy tunes, clichés, and slick talking his album "The Many Faces of Cartier" independently dropped locally in 2000 on Fette-ola Music/P.N.O.T.S. Publishing with video for “201” displayed on public access channels throughout NJ. Currently Cartier has produced tracks for artists such as Camron as well as a few other established artist’s and is actively seeking scrilla from the music industry.
Recently Cartier has linked with Ru1Records, coupled together with several other artists from NJ they plan to take over the game through the independent route.
